Did you know we have our own in-house sharpening and servicing department at Christies Direct?

Master Service, our expert team of trained engineers, will sharpen your scissors and blades as well as service your dryer, blaster or clipper, making sure they produce the highest quality results and last as long as possible.

Sharpening

How do you know when your scissors need to be sharpened?  If the tension isn’t right on your scissors the edges will become dull and a few things may happen:

  • Your blades will get small nicks

  • They suddenly stop cutting correctly

  • They will strain your wrist or hand

If you have corrected the tension, have cleaned and oiled them regularly, and are still having problems you should have your scissors sharpened.

Servicing

What about your clippers?

Ideally, you should have your clipper serviced at least once a year.  This will make sure it is running efficiently and producing the best results when grooming your dog coat.

There are a few signs that your clipper may need to be serviced more often:

  • The blade is lagging or pulling through the hair

  • You feel excessive vibrations from the unit

  • The blade is leaving lines in the coat

  • The motor is running slow

We will clean your clipper to remove all hair, dirt and carbon particles and check all parts for wear and tear, and replace them if necessary.

What do we check when servicing your blaster or dryer?

When your blaster or dryer is serviced, it is cleaned to remove all hair, dirt and carbon particles. The brushes and switches are checked for wear and replaced if necessary. Motors and motor carbon brushes are checked, as well as both internal and external filters, which are changed if necessary.
