Emily Myatt Crufts 2019 Highlights

If you missed us at Crufts this year, I’m sure you were kept up to date with all of our Instagram stories!

This year, we had Emily Myatt, master groomer from the Goldcoast in Australia over with us, to show how some of our fantastic products can be used in the salon as well as at home, and also to give some grooming top tips!

We had various seminars with Emily throughout Crufts, such as dog maintenance, perfecting short coat breads, as well as wolly coat breeds. If you want to see some videos we took, check out this video!

I bet you’re wondering what were the products you saw in the video?

Well first up we had Ozzie, and what a good boy he was!

Emily used the Andis Pulse Zr II wireless clipper on Ozzie, including around his paws and ears. This clipper is Emilys favourite, and with its 5 speed settings, spare battery to ensure you never run out of power as well as its low noise level, it’s clear to see why (00:01)

Next Emily used the Groom Professional Coat king  (wide), which is a really efficient stripping tool for removing undercoat and smoothing out jacket (00:19).

The BlueQuartz 6 1/2 inch thinners  were used to groom the entire dog. These thinners are great for blending, shortening, styling and are a groomers must have in their kit (00:37)

Emily sprayed Ozzie with the Groom Professional scissor spritzer.  This spray allows the brush and comb to flow smoothly through the hair, as well as helping the coat stay silky and smooth make scissoring easier and less time consuming (01:01)

The next dog Emily groomed was Noodle the Doodle! This curly boy has a coat that some groomers may find difficult to work with, but with these products, your job may just become a little easier!

Noodle was brushed using Groom professional medium curved soft slicker brush , which is a great brush especially for soft coats! (01:10)

Emily sprayed the Groom professional wonder coat  before brushing Noodle. Top tip: never dry brush your dog, spray first to make brushing easier. It also smells amazing (01:14). See how Emily brushed and combed Noodle with ease after using this amazing product (01:19).

The Blue quartz 7 1/2 inch scissors  are equivalent to a sushi chefs knife! They’re great for everything and especially when you want a good scissor for all curly coats (01:48).

The third dog Emily groomed was Toby. Toby was great with Emily throughout the stripping process.

He was brushed using the Groom Professional Coat king  (wide), which is a really efficient stripping tool for removing undercoat and smoothing out jacket (02:47).

Emily used the Dezynadog stripping stone , which is an alternative to using a stripping knife. You can card with it, helps with finer hairs and for people that have trouble with gripping things it’s easier to use as its light (02:53).

When using any hand stripping tools, Emily always uses the Showdog Strip grip powder. You don't need a lot to get the desired grip. It’s a very fine powder and doesn't have any fragrance so not irritate or upset the dogs skin (3.43).

Groom professional coarse stripping knife- suitable on most coat types, comfortable handle and easy to use, only knife Emily uses for hand stripping (3.26).

The final dog was Fletch who just loved all the female attention!

Fletch was brushed with the Groom professional medium curved soft slicker brush, which is great for soft coats (03:47).

Fletch was sprayed with the Groom professional wonder coat  before being brushed- Top tip: never dry brush your dog, spray first to make brushing easier. It also smells amazing (04:04).

Emily also sprayed Fletch with the Groom Professional scissor spritzer.  This spray allows the brush and comb to flow smoothly through the hair, as well as helping the coat stay silky and smooth make scissoring easier and less time consuming (04:04).

For Fletch’s nails, Emily used the Shernbao Cordless Nail Grinder . This grinder with a super durable and water resistant grinding wheel is perfect for salon use and runs for over 3 hours on full charge (04:11).

Emily used the Andis Pulse ZR II  wireless clipper on Fletch, including around his paws and ears. This clipper is Emilys favourite, and with its 5 speed settings, spare battery to ensure you never run out of power as well as its low noise level, it’s clear to see why (04:16).
